Expo 2020 – Terra, The Sustainability Pavilion

About the Project

Designed by Grimshaw, UK, the Sustainability Pavilion highlights the importance of sustainable living and has achieved LEED Platinum Certification. Terra features a gigantic solar canopy fitted with 1,000 solar panels and state-of-the-art water technology, making it a 100% self-sustaining structure. The landscaping sourced almost 100 local plant species to reduce water consumption by 75%, used recycled glass and concrete for paving, and features 18 energy trees fitted with solar panels that rotate with the sun.
