Wahat Al Karama – Martyr’s Memorial Park, Abu Dhabi

About the Project

Built opposite the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Wahat Al Karama is a lasting tribute to UAE's fallen military heroes. At the heart of the park is The Memorial Plaza, an open amphitheatre-style space with a seating capacity of 1,200 people, featuring an enormous monument of aluminium-clad leaning panels designed by British artist Idris Khan. Next to the monument is a wide glittering shallow pool that captures the reflection of both the memorial and the Grand Mosque.
